World Swim for Malaria 2005

The University of Manchester Swimming & Water Polo Club will be supporting the World Swim for Malaria campaign during training sessions of week commencing Monday 5th December.

The challenge will be to collectively swim the distance involved in a round trip of the three Christie Cup Universities - Liverpool, Leeds & Manchester. The Christie Cup is the second oldest inter-university sports competition (behind the Oxford-Cambridge Varsity) - we would normally drive the 140 mile round trip in a minibus each year, so this target is a very appropriate challenge.

We will be donating profits from the sessions during the week to the cause and you, your friends and families can sponsor the club at the following link:

The money raised will help the World Swim for Malaria campaign to purchase mosquito nets to help save the lives of thousands of children across the world who are at risk of the disease.

The World Swim for Malaria is backed by British Swimming and BUSA.
